Wallet cards
Here is the idea in one breath. You own a wallet where only you have the keys, and the card spends from it. Coins leave the wallet only when you pay, and the card company turns them into normal money on the spot.
A newcomer should check the price, the coins and networks that can load the card, who is allowed to get one, and what kind of company stands behind it.
Be aware that self-custody is a different risk, not a free pass. If the seed phrase is lost nobody can reset it, and the card company may still freeze the card. Each review says where that boundary lies.
